The project aimed to explore sustainable energy solutions by installing solar panels along riverbanks, initially envisioning an art exhibition concept to engage the community. Regulatory constraints led to a shift towards engineering solutions, focusing on hanging solar panels with minimal contact points for optimised energy production and compliance. Developing a specialised device for corner hang configuration involved prototyping with wood and metal, leading to a streamlined 3D model design comprising only three pieces of welded metal. Extending the solution's applicability, a modular kit concept for interconnecting multiple panels was devised, emphasiaing user-friendly assembly and disassembly. This commitment to user-centric design was informed by prior experiences at ENSCi, where 3D modelling became pivotal in materialising innovative concepts and achieving practical outcomes.
